Cayenne rear room
Cayenne rear room
I currently drive an E sedan but are considering to change it to 2015 Cayenne for its wider rear seats and the bigger trunk...
Not sure if anyone here drives both E and Cayenne... ? what do you think about the rear space comparison between the 2?
And another thing.. I love the gts.. but the rear sport seat not ideal for maximum space for kids ... anyone knows if I can just downgrade the rear seats to standard while keeping the front sport seats??

Get the turbo , you will think me later ! Just replace secondary cats (550$) forged diverter valve (250$) and a ecu flash (1500$) .. You hill have no lag at all
I have full exhaust and its like driving a N/A car

I can't compare it to your Merc, but I'll give you my impressions.
The rear seat area is decent. For two people I'd say it's excellent, but if you have a 3rd person back there, it's best if they are big enough to not need a car seat/booster but small enough that the center hump for the drive train makes a good foot rest.
The cargo area is one of the few things I've been disappointed in from day one. My issue is that while the floor is a decent size, the rake on the D-pillar means your vertical space is quite limited. There is enough floor space for all 3 50lb dogs we had at the time I bought the P!g, but only one could stand/sit up at a time if the rear seats were upright. Speaking of the rear seats, they don't fold entirely flat which does not help the vertical space issue.
As far as the seats go, I think your only option would be to buy a second set of non-sport seats and replace them. It would be a simple DIY, but I expect those seats would be $$$$ (though significantly less than putting sport seats in front).

just a quick question, so for cargo space, how many checked luggage can be put if not folding down the 2nd row?
No idea since I refuse to support the TSA and specifically bought the car for road trips
With the rear seats slid forward an inch you can get two Action Packer bins in there if that helps.
We travel with the driver side and middle folded down and slid all the way forward and the kid in the passenger side with the seat scooted forward an inch or so. The dog crate folds up and lays on the floor behind the passenger rear seat. The action packer sits on that and the clothes bag (big soft duffel type) gets stuffed into the rear driver side against the tail gate. Then we cram every other free inch in the rear foot wells and other nooks and crannies.
I bought a roof box for it too and we used that the first year, but since he doesn't use his stroller any more we haven't needed the box on the last couple of trips. I also have a hitch platform that I used with the Escape, but so far we haven't used it (though that is mainly due to not being able to get into the cargo area since it blocks the tailgate and Porsche felt being able to open the rear window is overrated

I own a 2010 e63 and 2011 cayenne turbo and the overall interior space is slighter larger in the Cayenne. To make a comparison, I use to have a baby car seat in the E class and I use to have to move the front passenger seat almost all the way up to accommodate the baby seat. I now have the same baby seat in the Cayenne and the front passenger have a lot more leg space.
The trunk space is about the same size, but you can stack more stuff in the Cayenne.
