Thank the FTC and DOT for their PITA of red tape MFGs have to go through to import things.

We got the V6 because the motor was already coming in via VW and Audi.

I expect Porsche wants to see if the V6D sales continue to be strong before investing in getting the V8D certified. I would expect to see it in the 958 replacement.

Was it available for the current Hybrid? I didn't think you could get it on the Hybrid and know you can't get it (and won't in the .2 either) on the diesel.

IIRC (and it's entirely possible that I don't) the diesel and Hybrid use a different drive train which is why they don't have PTV+ or locking diffs.

I see, that makes sense

Configurator is up now.

Pricing the specific options on my 13 CD brings it in cheaper than doing the same when I bought mine. I, however, did go the package route which makes the new model 2-3k more than my MSRP.

The Xenon w/PDLS and PCM seem to be the big ones as the later is included and the former is now just an upgrade to add the PDLS and therefore cheaper.

Is it me, or all the changes in configuration for the CD are just to hide the fact that there is a price increase of around $5000 over 2014.

At a minimum Xenon and PCM are standard. That about covers the "increase" by itself.

overall very nice but a few disappointments:

1) should have same rear lights as macan, which look great
2) should have same center console as macan / panorama, which is much more sleek
3) should have iPhone connectivity (like Tesla!), to start car ahead of time and manage temp, etc.
4) their online gallery features the turbo in a beige color... couldn't be a worse color to showcase their top of the line car!
5) should have gone to all screen / glass instrument panel. most cars are going this direction
6) massaging seats, etc. would have been nice and given it a luxury edge (it already has the sport performance edge)
7) night vision would be cool... x5 has had this for years

again, very nice overall... but for second generation, i would have hoped for more new things. feels like they've been a bit lazy the last number of years with the minor changes they have made.

I do give credit for the true hybrid model... although wish they put that option on the turbo engine too! why not!?

race3, most of what you are wishing for are not mid cycle refresh changes for any manufacturer.

As far as the thinner console, the Cayenne is wider than those other two. You'd complain about gaping gaps between the seat and console if they did make it thinner

The lights could have been done, but I expect they want to keep those exclusive to the Macan for now. Look for it in the 958 replacement though.

DBM has been replaced too. Not that it's useful to judge, but it looks like the new blue is darker.
