Just a brief history for those that don't know. I came from a 2012 CS to a 2013 CTT recently and just found out something new on the CTT.

While switching lanes aggressively (really close to the car infront of me) the CTT decided it needed to brake hard followed by a loud beep and red warning on the cluster... I'm assuming this is due to the adaptive cruise control option the CTT has but is there a way to disable this feature. I know it will probably come in handy sometimes but it was a bit scary to have the car brake on its own while I was trying to speed up to pass a car...

"Honey...Why did you brake like that? I didn't, the car did it." Very annoying. Now I apply the brake or better yet, gas before I make the maneuver, but then have to flick the lever up to reset. Don't think you can disarm that feature.

 

The feature is called Active Safe (PAS) and can be disabled under the vehicle settings: Vehicle\Settings\Assist. systems\Active Safe (PAS). It's in the manual on page 132.

 

Thanks for the info. My wife was also in the car today and asked what was wrong with the car...

Feel kind of guilty if I turn it off for some reason since it is a safety feature but it's definitely a feature one would have to get use to.
