3d building rendering

Hey guys I have a 2011 cayenne with PCM 3.1. It has 3d building rendering feature. However, when I drive through downtown LA none of the buildings pop up automatically. But last week I drove a 2014 panemara loaner it automatically renders building as soon as I'm in the downtown LA area. Stymied, I even went ahead and purchased the updated map for my nav and today driving through LA nothing pops up. I called 3 different dealers all 3 gave me different answers. (What idiots) does anybody have a clue why my 3d building rendering is not showing??

If you are on the map screen, I think there is a setting under options to change the map display. I'll see if I have time later to check exactly what screen.
