I have a 2011 Cayenne. The tail gate is playing up. Doesn't open fully or close. Sometimes it makes 3 beeps. Instead of one long one.

Any idea what I can do to fix it? Are there any sensors I can clean.

 

Based on your description I'd guess that you have either a strut issue or something with the mechanism itself. I don't have any experience working on that stuff though so that's just a best guess and I don't have any advice on tackling it.

 

or a carpeted mat in the back that is too far near the hatch. when our mat slides back, which it always does, at some point, it causes the hatch not to close.
