Thinking of trading up
Thinking of trading up
I've been thinking of trading up to a Cayenne S. Right now I have a 2013 Cayenne V6. It's pretty highly optioned with pano roof, roof rails, trailer hitch, 19" turbo wheels, premium package plus, comfort package, lighting package, silver exterior with black interior, 14 way heated cooled seats and aluminum interior package. It's a 3 pedal stick shift, manual transmission. I've always had a manual, and love this one, just been jonsing for more go fast from the go fast pedal. It's got 24,500 miles. I'm not sure of the best way to sell/obtain the value of my car. I know the manual transmission is highly sought after, and there were very few made. I only found one for sale at a dealer in the USA. Any ideas on how I can find out? Obviously interested in maximizing my sale to put toward new 2016. Appreciate feedback and thoughts. Thanks.

I traded in my 2011 Cayenne v6 for a 2016 S in August. I think I got a fair deal based on what other 2011 Cayenne's were going for with 40k miles, etc. Your local dealer can appraise it to give you a ball park price. I had 3 dealers appraise it and they were all within 1000$ of each other. I ended up trading it in vs doing the private sale. Tax right off and convenience were the deciding factors. Good luck.
Agree that dealer would be the first place to check on trade values...but be prepared for a low ball number and comments like "it doesn't have an automatic, we'll never be able to sell a manual" - dealers will look for any excuse to discount. Good luck - you have a nicely optioned car.
