VW cheat on Porsche diesel too
Well I have a 2014 Cayenne Diesel, love it. Just got a snail mail from PCNA that my car is on the list. It does have urea (adblue) need to add it at 11k miles or so. Car only has 6k miles on it so far. Car is great quiet, gets 28-33mpg in a 4700 pound car not bad. Not sure what they will do. I also have a 2012 Golf Diesel, you know I not happy that that car will depreciate in value, but the $80k Cayenne, yeah I'm pissed about that. And pissed at Porsche/VW for allowing such a scam, didn't think they would get caught?
EPA should obviously revise their testing methods as well and maybe not publish how they test unless a car fails.

Hi,
Does this (alleged) 'cheat' also apply to UK Cayenne diesels as (I believe) US 3.0 TDi CDs are 240 hp(?) whereas UK's (Model year 15) are 262hp.
I also believe that 'cheat' increases adBlue injection under test and decreases addition subsequently. If emissions increase 9 fold then amount of adBlue required to meet emissions may have to increase by a factor of (up to) 9......
so as I had to replace 15 ltrs AdBlue @ 6300 miles then (up to) x 9 could result in a complete fill up (tank volume of 21 ltrs) of adBlue every 1K miles!!!!
Cheers,
Dieter

I own a 2014 CD that is pretty much fully loaded and a 2015 TTS.
When the scandal first broke I assumed Porsche would not be implicated. I was wrong. I haven't heard a word from my dealer or Porsche North America but I assume they are going to take care of CD owners. I am guessing that they are still gathering the facts and trying to figure out what to do.
Does anyone have any insights as to what Porsche NA is going to do? While I am patient, I am not very happy.

Yeah I got the same a 2014 CD fully loaded and a 2015 TTS, also the real culprit I have a 2012 Golf TDI. PCNA did contact me via email, but didn't really admit to a mistake. Said the CD could be affected. Well, pretty clear now that is affected. Yeah not very happy with VW at all. I wonder if development of new Porsches in the pipeline will be stalled due to the payouts. The lawsuits could be a real problem.
I just got this email from Porsche, looks like they are stepping up to ease the fears of us Cayenne Diesel owners! For one I appreciate the extended warranty over a few bucks in service and a Visa card! Still no idea of the final fix, but this is a good start for me IMHO. CHEERS
As promised in my last letter to you, we remain committed to keeping you updated on the status of the Environmental Protection Agency Notice of Violation we received affecting your Porsche Cayenne Diesel vehicle.
Both we and our engine supplier continue cooperating with all regulatory authorities to identify the changes that will be required in order to re-certify the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine. Therefore, we would only be speculating if we tried to comment about how any such changes might affect the performance of your Porsche Cayenne Diesel vehicle, if at all. We can only hope you will accept our assurance that, as soon as we know, we will inform you.
As a sign of our respect for you as a Porsche customer, and our appreciation for your patience and loyalty while we clarify the issues and gather all the facts, we hope you will accept a 2-year Porsche Approved Limited Warranty that will extend the warranty coverage for your Cayenne Diesel up to 6 years or 100,000 miles from its original in-service date, whichever occurs first. Your Porsche Cayenne Diesel remains safe and roadworthy, and we hope this longer limited warranty coverage will allow you to continue to drive your Porsche with great confidence. You can find all the details about the Porsche Approved Limited Warranty at

This warranty will automatically be added to the records concerning your Porsche Cayenne Diesel vehicle without any further action needed on your part, and is also fully transferable to any future owner of your car. You may be assured that we are offering this without any prejudice to any future rights you may have or may wish to exercise as a result of these unfortunate matters. We mean only to thank you for your loyalty to Porsche and to recognize that these investigations have caused you concern, for which we apologize.
Please allow me to reiterate that we appreciate your business and your loyalty. As this situation unfolds, we hope we may ask you to allow us the necessary time to ensure we make this right for you. We are committed to doing just that.

I received the extended warranty email last week, which quite frankly I was quite happy to see. My wife planned to keep the CD well past the warranty anyway so this is actually great news, IMO.

I got the extended warranty email late last week myself. I think this is a good start however, Porsche should be doing more yet. This is a premium vehicle that we all paid a premium price for and I'd expect to see more compensation that what owners of the Toureg or Q7 receive.
