Headlight Cracked - Need Replacement

Long story short my passenger headlight cracked and I need a new one. To replace just one from the dealer would cost around $700-800, so I was looking online and found this:http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2011-2014-Por...BWyRIs&vxp=mtr

not a bad price for 2 headlights that give the look of the 2015-16 square 4 led headlights. Only concern is aftermarket and how they would hold up

Thoughts?

Also I notice that it only fits the OEM HID headlights and not the halogen ones. I have a 2011 Porsche Cayenne v6 model, and the headlights are bright white when turned on so I think they are HIDs (assuming the stock halogens are yellow?) How else would I make sure that they are the stock HID headlights?

I would check the build sheet just to be sure.. Halogen are not yellowish anymore, the bulbs tend to throw out a whiter color on the halogens

Also, I would go OEM on something like a headlight but thats me. I am more concerned with the long term and how long they would last.. I am sure you would plug it in today and it would work fine but just worried that it would burn out in a year or so and very hard to find replacement bulbs for it to match the other one.

Are you sure those are aftermarket? They look like the 958.1 TT/GTS headlights. Those would need programming to make the DRLs in the headlight work which would disable the ones in the light bars.

Presumably the dealer looked up the part based on your VIN and based on the price I would say you have Halogen lights as the Xenons have an MSRP of about $1300/each (USD).

Another way you can check is to take a look at your fuse boxes (left or right will do). There are separate fuses for the Halogen and Xenon lights. Which ever one you have a fuse for is the type of light you have.

No programming needed. just add one wire to connector and connect to bumpers wiring. instead of original or in parallel

OK, You need the PIWIS programming if you don't want to mess with the wiring harness. Better?

Better. But what for buy hadlights with LED? chineese made only turbo version?
Better to find oem, without leds but original and less then 400$.
In case you mentioned before just put lights in, no reprogramming, no wirings - let DRL illuminate from stock position.
