ECU upgrade GIAC vs EVOMS vs durability
ECU upgrade GIAC vs EVOMS vs durability
So I've probably read a few dozen threads on this subject but some of it looks dated. Quick poll, is the GIAC tune that much better than the EVOMS piggyback?
Second question that I don't really see addressed anywhere: Is the Cayenne Turbo engine and drivetrain robust enough for the increased horsepower? Or in a year am I going to have a blown out rear end or broken crank shaft?
FWIW, I have a 2013 Cayenne Turbo, bone stock.

It is not well publicized, but we released an ECU flash for the 958.1 Cayenne TT about a year ago and have a number of them in service. Rated numbers on 91oct are a gain of 75whp and 90wtq for a completely stock truck, or roughly 85hp and 105lb-ft at the flywheel. It is
ly fast and smooth, and makes the truck do burnouts from a brake boosted launch. We also have files available for cars running secondary cat bypass pipes (another 10whp and 10wtq or so) and an intake we plan to release shortly. Cost is (edit: $1949) including a handheld OBDII flash tool. The flash tool is easy to use and allows you to turn the car back to stock at any time or install updates to the tune if needed.

The ECU flash is more capable and more consistent than the piggyback. There are just a multitude more things we can do with it and we have better control going directly to the software. However, the piggyback works well for what it is. We developed it in the desert heat on 91oct, so the program is ships with is safe and fairly conservative. We've been selling them for six years now, and in that time there have been no damaged cars or significant performance issues beyond some early connectivity issues which is sometimes the nature of the beast with how these work. From the driver's seat, a stock or lightly modified Panamera or Cayenne definitely picks up power and drives smoothly with the module. We are still putting them into use on 970.2 and 958.2 that we do not yet offer flash software for, on a 970.2TT it improves performance by 0.3sec 0-60 and 0.5sec 60-100, or a little less than 10% faster.
Since the flash isn't available yet for purchase on our website (purely as our website is out of date), email me at sstone@evoms.com or call me at 480-568-8736.

Definitely, same for the Panamera and Macan.

Great! We are waiting for a good tune!
Anyone try the Fabspeed ECU Tune? About half the price of GIAC and Evoms. You also don't have to remove your ECU from your car as part of the purchase includes an OBDII type reader/writer.
