Help Me Decide On This 2012 CTT w/98k Miles

This is what i am looking at. Test drove this on Sunday and it is night and day difference from my 09 Range Rover. I can try and get it for $29k. Anything wrong with considering one with nearly 100k miles? I have been browsing this site awhile and am aware of the common issues and will get a PPI if i decide i want to pursue this. https://www.porscheofarlington.com/d...ource=cars.com

That's not a bad price at all if you can get a copy of the service/maintenance records. Since it's at a Porsche dealership see if they will go ahead with doing the recall in order to make the sale. Parts seem to be very limited in getting the camshaft recall done. I'm not familiar with those wheels on the CTT but overall looks good.

According to the recall lookup on Porsche's site it doesn't need/qualify for the recall as it doesn't have any recalls open currently.

Shouldn't be subject to the recall. Very few 2012 models were - just ones manufactured in 2012.

The only issue to be watched for is the transfer-case. There are threads on this here, and on rennlist.com.

Is the dealer offering any sort of warranty on it?

Yes, I did. Should be OK then - but I'd take a dental mirror and a mag light and make certain... it's easy to check.

The white one is the twin to mine... except my wheel arch molding and bottom molding are black. And I don't have crests on my headrest. Or an "F1" steering wheel (just heated wood...)

You might think the person selling it might clean it out before taking the photos... That one since it's only about 400 from my VIN# for sure is subject to the recall unless it's been done. Dental-mirror/flashlight. If it hasn't been done use it as a bargaining tool.

The white one has 2 open recalls on it listed. The variocam bolts as well as the circlip on the brake pedal.

Recall status is easy to check on the Porsche site

So i have decided against the high mileage Cayenne with 98k. Now I am looking at the white one above and this one here..https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...searchRadius=0

This was purchased as a CPO vehicle and that warranty expired in summer of last year. It is located in TN so I will have to fly down to check it out but it appears it was taken care of. It is well optioned. No recalls come up for this. We agreed on $37k.

I think with any cars with high mileage things wear out. I had a 2013 CTT I bought new and sold it last year with 110k on the clock. It was absolutely bulletproof if you did all the maintenance which wasn't cheap but I never expected it to be.

The two things that were wear issues for me was the fuel pump regulator and the front diff. I had both of them replaced right around 100K.

Looks nice. Very close build to my car (and close in VIN#..)

Do check if AH-08 (Variocam recall) has been done. You might ask the current owner to have that done before buying it if it hasn't. 99% of the time it appears it goes just fine, but once in a while not so much, up to and including engine replacement (which can take months to happen..)

There is a page on the NHTSA website where you can check the recall status, and I believe on Porsche's website (or just call them with the VIN#.)

Just checked it out and it is excellent inside and out. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...lCode1=CAYENNE

It is at the dealership now for PDCC reservoir replacement.

It needs the 4 year major service and new tires. Im planning on a GIAC tune, secondary cat bypass pipes and some tint. Should be perfect after that!
