Modifications for off road
Modifications for off road
Hi all
I apologise for the dumb questions in advance ! Anyone who hates dumb questions from new people - turn away now.
I am thinking about buying a Cayenne Turbo and modifying it then using it for fairly serious off road beach work. We regularly go camping, fishing, jet skiing on an Island with no sealed roads or boat ramps and currently have a Nissan 4WD but want something more interesting and fun. We load and unload boats from the beach and it is easy to get stuck and the tracks have deep ruts and lots of deep water crossings.
It would need to be raised up higher than a standard 4WD it would need to have large diameter/high profile tyres and a high up air intake as well as diff/gearbox breathers plus a winch and tow ball.
Question is has this been done by anyone who could give some advice or point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Dave

A few tips from Expedition Portal..
High traction tires and the air suspension in high clearance mode would likely get you through most situations. There are several hitch solutions and I think a few winch bumpers, and raised air intakes/snorkels really don't do much on gas engine vehicles as the water at the ignition will typically will stop forward progress before water in the intake.
