08/09 GTS audio system

hey guys,

I'm new to the forum, but i've got a quick question for you guys. I've recently found a Macadamia GTS at a dealership near my home. I have only seen the color once before and i fell in love with it. Needless to say this is perfect timing because i'm starting a search for a new(to me) car and it has put the GTS back on my radar. Unfortunately i'm out of the country for a few months and i was wondering if you could provide some info as to the quality of the audio system and if there was a factory iPod integration in MY'08/09 vehicles. Also, feel free to share any opinions you have on the GTS.Thanks in advance for all the knowledge i'm sure you will share.

There isn't an "OEM" option for Ipod unfortunately.

I have an 08 GTS and installed an aftermarket Dension unit that works great with the factory system.

There is an option, but perhaps it wasn't available in 2008. Not sure about that.

"UF1 Universal Audio Interface" is the option code.

the audio system itself is very good. I have the 14 speaker bose in mine and it is incredible. tonal reproduction is right on, I prefer the digital signal processing of bose and have it in my home as well. be prepared for a slew of haters on bose though.

I am not sure if the 09 model year still has bose.

I personally am a committed audiophile and consider bose (among other brands I own) to be very good quality and the tonal reproduction right on.

basically I feel that porsche has equipped the audio system according to the price tag. definitely got money's worth.

however I do wish they had added basic features for that year such as bluetooth and ipod or aux audio integration. really silly they didnt.

Yeah, stereo sounds good. The subwoofer seems weaker in my '08 GTS compared to my '05 CS. I don't have the Denison, but I'm researching it. Will probably pull the trigger as a lot of other Cayenne drivers have recommended it here and on RennTech.
There is no stock iPod option in mine - or Bluetooth - but there's an option for the CD Changer. As I understand it, they all come pre-wired for it in case you don't get one and want to install it later.
Overall, I'm ok with the stereo. I wish mine had the CD changer, but the Denision should scratch that itch.

My '09 GTS has ipod integration and Bluetooth. They are factory options. Bose system is good, but is MUCH better if you simply add an aftermarket sub, which not only adds needed depth, but frees the other drivers from the burden of bass so they work that much better.

I was thinking of the same thing, just drawing off the Bose sub speaker as a high output to a big PPI amp and subs I was running in my coupe.

+1 on the finish! I really like the badges and coloring....did you do it yourself? If you know, where did you pull power for your sub amp?

I built the sub box myself. I actually sourced the same alcantara that is used in the Cayenne roof liner. The center piece design was modeled after the sport shifter that I have. The whole thing is modular and can pull apart in like 2 minutes if I really need the space. The amp is a 600 watt JL audio amp and is under the spare tire where the stock sub used to sit. Signal is tapped from the stock sub wiring, and power is fed from the battery. I had the wiring done professionally, however.

Take a look at the JL stealthbox. I hooked a sub amp directly to the factory wiring and installed stealthbox. Sound is amazing.
