3.6 + 997 vs 4.8 GTS

me and the misses are in need of a bigger car

trying to decide between a 3.6 cayenne (and keeping my 997 c2s) or trading my 997 in for a 4.8 GTS

am not sure the GTS ticks the fun to drive factor enough to take the place of my c2s but love the look and details vs a base cayenne

thoughts?

+1

The 997 with 4 spark plugs removed is more fun than any cayenne (I said fun - cayenne is a beautiful SUV).

I own both. Drive the Cayenne and see what it does for you. I think it is easily as fun to drive, simply different.

We've got an 08 GTS and a 997.2. I love driving the GTS, it's a great package but not a replacement for the 997 experience. Completely different packages. That being said, we came from an 06 Titanium S and the difference between the GTS and the S is substantial, in my opinion.

I would never try to talk someone into selling a 997. But I would SERIOUSLY consider looking for a lower mileage 08/09 GTS and keeping the 997. You will understand why, trust me. The other half loves the new body style GTS but we opted to save ourselves the 50k and buy a used one for now. She's perfectly happy and we both love it.

Best of luck!

i own a 991 and a GTS. they are both great but different as others say.

that said, there is no comparison to a base cayenne and a GTS, looks or performance wise.

if you want to keep the 911, then get a diesel cayenne, very torquey, and put a set of 20 or 21's on it. its still wont be a GTS but is a lot nice of a ride than a base Cayenne IMO.
