Burning coolant

Posters...my 04 Porshe Cayenne S (65K miles) is burning anti-freeze and the repair thinks that head-gaskets is blown. What does that repair costs? Should I get it fixed or cut my loses?

Please advise.

Did you drain the oil? Unless I am mistaken, it you have a blown headgasket it will leak coolant into the combustion chamber where it will mix with the oil. Since the oil is water-based, it will be obvious if the oil is contaminated.

You should also do a compression test and cylinder leak down test to confirm before seriously considering a repair. Have these been done either?

Not sure...I can call the shop and ask. Worth a shot I guess, I thinking it's going to cost a fortune. He did say that he found a leak from one of the hoses and he replaced it, but he still thinks the gasket is blown.
