2013 leftovers - has anyone bought any?

I'm in the market for a new GTS. I've come across several 2013s, there seems to be a fair amount, and dealers are marking them down only 10%. That doesn't seem that much when the 2014s are already on its way out.

I'm seeing discounts easily of 8% on 2014s...

does that make any sense? anyone pick up a leftover recently?

Jeff

Jeff,

8% thats a big discount my dealer would offer like a 3% and this is the 4th car I bought from them and tomorrow I'm thinking of buying another 14' Cayenne but let see what deal I can get, I bought a 14 in november just got 3% off or maybe less I think I should get a better deal what is fair

If you can get 8% that easily off of a '14, I'd probably opt for that over a '13 with 10%.

Probably because there's no difference between a '13 and a '14 other than the year... Gotta wait for the new '15 before I'd expect any big discounts.

I wonder how the "14" versus the "13" would affect resale value in the future.

Like Dr. Volkl mentioned, not much would happen when people are anticipating some changes with the 2015 models.

Probably a lot like buying a 2007 911 Turbo vs a 2008 911 Turbo... in other words, not a whole lot, but people generally want the newer car regardless.

That's what I'm thinking. 2% is nothing compared to the immediate hit you take driving a 13 vs 14 off the lot.

The best thing to do is cast out your net. Check with dealerships 100, 200, 500 miles away and see if you can find one that needs to move a vehicle more than another. Look at all the models as some will be discounted more than others.
