Newbi Saying Hi.

Hello all, My name is Brad, I live just north of Grand Rapids MI, and just picked up a 2005 CTT, Figured I'd introduce myself, and say Wow what a vehicle. . 89k Miles, All dealer maintained, never driven in winter,(before me that is) and from what I can tell spotless. I do my own mechanical work, so any input is welcome, and Looking forward to
talking with other owners and comparing notes.
Thanks for looking.

Thank you, and None yet, still reading the manual first things first, as soon as this never ending winter quits Ill be getting a full detail done and I'm looking into a 3m clear Bra. I see there is a lot of debate on that though lol. But since I'm new to Porsche all together and I had a chip/exhaust and suspension on my BMW before this ,I'm looking into something similar. I'd really like to explore what I need to do too get the extra 70 hp that the 2006 turbo S has with the same 4.5l so that will be my first hp project.

Just do exhaust, secondary cat bypass pipes, and a tune and you will be up there! :-) I have a turbo S and it has bigger intercoolers then a regular CTT so you could also upgrade those for more power as well! A lot of people will say you need a cold air intake but honestly I think the stock setup is great! Just get some drop in filters for it and you are GTG! I run the stock box on my 996 Turbo as well and it's modded pretty good! Have fun with it and get a durametric! Will be helpful for you since you like to wrench! :-)

Will do. Thank you for the advice. So far I absolutely love it. Was pretty excited to get almost 18.5 mpg on my trip home with it at 78 and a couple spirited runs over 100 :-). I debated about wether or not to hold out for the right turbo or go with one of the nice S's I found, but I'm glad I did now. I forgot how much I like the feel of boost. Can't wait to start buying some tasteful upgrades.

I like it. Exactly like mine. I have done the 2nd cat bypass and will do a tune in the spring. With the help of some of the DIY,s available, it has been easy to work on.

Thank you. That's something I wondered about. I know there two different beasts and I love them for what they each are, but my BMW was so easy and logical to work on. One of the reasons I leaned towards an x5. But I couldn't pass up a Porsche turbo. . That puts my mind at ease a bit. I can't stand letting someone else do my work. I'm really **** about everything when it comes to my vehicles. Drives the wife crazy

Congratulations. It looks nice. I have an X5 4.6is, and I find Cayenne Turbos easier to work on, but that may just be me. I lived in the Grand Rapids/Kentwood area for a while about 10 years ago.

It's funny you say that, I stopped by euro auto works in Rockford today and saw a friend of mine who's one if their Porsche/Audi/BMW guys, and he told me the same thing. He also told me they have the software to do ecu tunes also and he'd have to ask, but he said he's pretty sure he can get mine done for next to nothing. . Got me thinking. It was nice to find out I may have a connection to getting some extra things done for a lot less money will update with progress .
