Diminuation of Value 13 Cayenne Diesel
Diminuation of Value 13 Cayenne Diesel
While I was working, a snowplow driver backed into my Cayenne diesel. The front hood bumper and side panel need replacement. Cost at the dealer I purchased from will be $4700. The insurance company adjustor said the value of my Cayenne will not change since Porsche approved parts are being used.

I am in a fight and need help.
I need to prove there is a difference in value before and after my accident repair is completed.
Anyone with experience in this sort of fight?
dale at vin dot com please

Diminished value is about the perception of something lesser and the fact that an accident will be reported once anyone pulls a history report on your VIN. How do you quantify potentially turned-away buyers? Not sure, but would be interested to hear.
I am convinced that diminished value is REAL, but auto insurance carriers will love to say otherwise for financial reasons.

There will infact be a diminished value.
No Porsche dealer is allowed to take that car and offer a CPO.
Buyers will ask dealer for carfax dealer has to show accident so typically car goes to auction.
Insurance company will argue but pay you more in the end stand your ground.

The insurance company likes to say there is no diminution of value since Porsche parts are being used. Hiring a certified appraiser is apparently needed and they tend to argue with that assessment as well. One guy above said my problem is that it is Diesel rather than the accident. I suspect he doesn't like Diesels. It is a fantastic car. I could trade to a platinum gas Cayenne 2014 for ~15K but the mileage is not very impressive. . So many decisions. I do like my Cayenne. The 14 Cayenne Diesel Platinum would cost me ~24K
