3 Car seats for Triplets

Has anyone tried putting in three car seats straight in a Cayenne? Having triplets and forced to sell my Panamera!

Any experiences and suggestions on car seat brands?

thanks!

I doubt it will fit. Even 3 high back boosters does not fit perfectly. Especially if you want to use the LATCH system. If you use the seat belts, maybe; but not very secure IMO.

If I were you, go for a van. Get a cayman or 911 as your own car. Or get some huge American SUV.

You definitely won't be able to fit 3 rear facing infant car seats in the back. If they were front facing seats for older kids then maybe. There was a brand that made "slim" seats that some folks have said they were able to fit, but I can't recall what the brand was.

If I were having triplets, I would be forced to look at a mini van. You have to keep in mind all stuff that you'll need to transport for the kids (stroller, bags, etc).

I agree on the van. I got an Odyssey with all the bells and whistles for my growing brood this year and it does it's job really well, but is not the most exciting to drive. Even a Merc GL was too small for three car seats across. Embrace the van!

I have just installed 2 forward facing and 1 rear facing seat in my 15" GTS.

I cannot see why you wont be able to install 3 x rear facing. The dimensions are the same as forward facing. (or at least mine are)

SNS unity/ SNS maxi rider AHR / SNS compaq in that order. (You might know the brand as Britax over there, not sure)

Basically, you could easily fit 3 x sns compaq no problem as these are the smallest, and convert from rear facing to front facing. (0-4 years old)

i have 3 seats across in my '13 cayenne....all diono radians, which can be rear facing, front facing, or boosters. they work fine with the 5 point restraints, and the LATCH anchors in the cayenne are wide enough that you can attach 2 seats to one of the anchor points. would be easier without the sport seats, as with the bolsters on the rear seats it doesn't hit quite right on the car seats, but it can be done!

We got an XC90 when we had twins, and I doubt it would have fit three seats across.

i doubt its safe to put three across even if it fits but its only your children

most car enthusiasts who cant stand getting a minivan get a suburban or similar. then as was said earlier have your car in the third spot.

That is just a patronizing statement with nothing to back it up with.

The NRMA here in Australia tests cars for the suitability for child seats, and the Cayenne ticks all the boxes for having 3 seats across the back.

I'm glad it resonated with the desired effect.

In the united states, the porsche cayenne is not suitable for three child seats. Neither is the X5, RR or even Ford explorers and JGC

My friend had and infant then had twins quickly after (closest i have to a triplets scenario). He tried everything to safely stay with a mid-sized SUV and avoid a minivan. In the end, they had to get a suburban to safely have three carseats installed.

Maybe its different down under, but my point is that why guess or make an assessment based on if they "physically fit"? If there are only two latch systems my guess is that it isn't as safe or they would have put the third set in the center row to begin with. Just like there is no shoulder harness for an adult. Its not meant for permanent use.

As a father, I don't cut corners with my kid's safety, guess or lash safety contraptions together haphazardly in hopes i can hold onto my preferred mode of transport. That would be selfish.

I guess we will have to disagree on this.

My 2016 Cayenne has three anchor points on the back of the seats. The two on the side seats which are marked, and the one in the centre which you pull out. Please be aware that this IS designed to be an anchor point. The safest place to put a baby is in the middle seat, due to side impact collisions.

In regards to the ISOFIX points on the side seats only, ISOFIX has only just been introduced in Australia 3 months ago after some changes were made to the initial design. (Our child seat safety regulations are probably the strictest in the world and ISOFIX was not deemed safe in its current form).

I am not merely guessing if the seats physically fit (unlike yourself), Im simply taking the advice from our National Motoring Association who agree that 3 child seats can be properly and safely installed in a Cayenne.
