Tips for installing BC coilovers

TIP1: When installing for the first time take some tesa tape and wrap it around the stud for the upper strut mount. I used enough to make one wrap. This will keep the spacers in place when you are having to go back and make damping adjustments.

TIP2: When going back to dial in the damping after your first, second or third test drive, put the front of your Cayenne on jack stands, don't just lift one side at a time to make adjustments, because you have to fight the tension from your sway bar.

TIP3: You only have to remove the sway bar bolt, this will allow your suspension to drop enough for you to get your fingers in to make adjustments. Remember to tighten that sway bar bolt at 1g. That means wheels on, jack stands removed and vehicle resting on the suspension.

Current Settings: Front 9 clicks from HARD, Rear 10 Clicks from HARD
Thanks

Nice write up! Any updates you can fill in after the install, like ride quality, handling, before & after pics?

Same damper length different wheel diameter

Bottom line up front, adjustable damping, adjustable ride height and the look and ride that YOU want!

I'm sorry but I bought the Cayenne with the dampers therefore I don't have a comparison.

Go for it!

An easy re-do

There are some things in life that can't be reversed but your situation can be!

I just made another adjustment over the weekend and when I thought it couldn't be better.....it is! May go one more click stiffer.

I have enjoyed mine and it was a selling point for me. Although remote adjustment would be nice.

Easier way to adjust front damping setting

1. Lift front end and place stands in the proper area on each side of the vehicle
2. Remove wheels
3. Loosen qty 4 damper nuts from body studs
4. Now do the same for the other side

Since both dampers are connected to the sway bar, disconnecting each damper from the body will allow both of them to drop at the same time and it leaves just enough room to get your index fingers from each hand in to do your adjustment.

5. Dial in your desired adjustment
6. Assembly in reverse order and don't forget to torque.

Thanks for reading.
