S E-Hybrid Auxiliary Cabin Conditioning retrofit?

Dear forum,

I've taken delivery of my Cayenne S-EH a few days ago and noticed in the instruction manual that the aux cabin conditioning option provides both heating and cooling. My dealer had said when ordering that this would be cooling only so I didn't go for it... In retrospect I would have had I known that it also provides heating functionality...

Dealership in unclear on whether or not this can be retrofitted so I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas?

Much appreciated!
Jos.

I would not think it is something you can add after the fact. It requires an Electric heater and AC unit added to the build of the car.

Find another dealer...according to a Suncoast offering, it can be retro-fitted -

30 min install time??

"Note: Professional installation required by an authorized Porsche dealer, estimated installation time is about 30 minutes. Make sure your VIN number is 100% accurate (if it's wrong, you've wasted your money). This kit is not returnable under any circumstance."

I would be very very surprised if it involves anything other than a software update/coding to enable it.

Conditions : S E-Hybrid with freezing temperatures ambient, Hybrid charged to 100% on battery guage. Vehicle is driven and engine is off, how is the "cabin" interior heat being generated? Is the AC being worked as a heat pump, is it grid heating? Perhaps the way it is heated is the same as it can be heated by pcc.

Bringing up old thread because I can’t seem to figure out how to heat the car up in a reasonable time. Does the motor need to be on and up to temp to make interior heat? Even if I force the motor on and leave the car idling in the driveway the car will not warm up until I start to drive it. Even when driving in 40F ambient temps with the motor on it still takes 3 times longer to achieve cabin heat as my other non hybrid cars. the car is not warm by the time I get to work which is a 6 mile drive. What gives?

car is a 2015 cayenne S e hybrid.

I have a 2016 and have not noticed what you describe. Even without starting the car, it seems to heat up within 5 minutes or less. I do use the heated seats and steering wheel regularly which probably supplements the conventional heating . . .

interesting thank you. I’m wondering if the thermostat is failing...maybe failing in the open position? I have an appointment to get the Porsche connect app setup so that hopefully I can preheat.

The ability to pre-heat was a specific option I didn’t get but wish I had. . . .

from what I understand turning on the preheat is just a coding thing the dealer can do. If they know how and can be talked into it.

Please let me know - I thought there was some factory-installed hardware involved
