2017 Cayenne Plat. Ed. Engine Stall
Hello All,
I took delivery of a brand new 2017 Platinum Edition Cayenne (Model 92ABA1) last Friday which I special-ordered back in May.
On Saturday evening, while waiting for a traffic signal, the engine stalled. Initially I thought the Auto Start-Stop had engaged, but when I pressed the accelerator the engine did not turn on. I shifted to Park, turned the key off and on and the engine started and immediately stalled again. I repeated this several times to no avail. The engine would successfully start but immediately stall, even while I tried to disengage the Auto Start-Stop while the engine was turning over. I tried shutting everything down, closing and locking the doors and restarting the car with the same result. At this point, I had to call Porsche Roadside Assistance who sent a flatbed to carry the Cayenne to the dealership.
The car had a total of 77 miles when this happened. It had over 3/4 tank of fuel.
The dealer is assessing the issue and I will update this thread when I have their diagnosis.
Although the 2017's are just arriving in the US, I am wondering if anyone has experienced or heard of this issue with Cayennes or other models. Porsche told me "this just never happens" and I am concerned I bought a "lemon".
Thanks in advance for the thoughts, suggestions and opinions.

The dealer said the problem was a bad control module which sent an erroreous signal and activated the Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS) shutting down the engine. The control module in the trunk was replaced and the Cayenne started normally.
Glad it was an easy fix!
