superformance i can take a ride in?
I'm contemplating a superformance purchase and was wondering if there's anyone in Colorado who has one that they'd take me for a spin in? Thanks in advance!
rednoble,
If you don't find anyone out west that you can get a ride with, you are welcome to come east to Dulles airport. My family has 3 (dad, brother, me) and we race together with them. We've got different tastes and thus different setups, but can give you quite a bit of information regarding your questions on SPF cars.
We also have relationships with many who sell/work on them, and can give you good references there as well. Feel free to send me a PM.

I owned SPF #326 for several years. Black Cobra replica.
Put about 25,000 miles on it. Drove it to and from CA twice from here in CO. Tracked it a bunch, ran Open Road Races in it, and a fair amount of fun mountain drives.
It was absolutely a fantastic car. Very easy to work on- I had a 351 in it (so plug changes weren't the nightmare that big block guys encounter), backed up by a Tremec 3550 5 speed. 4.10 gears in the diff made it fun around town.
I upgraded the 15" rims to 17" PS Engineering wheels, because finding 15" speed rated tires was difficult, particularly in the width I wanted- I ended up running a 335 mm rear tire.
The only thing about the SPF Cobra I didn't like was it's ability to handle rain. It can't. Leaked like crazy, even with top up and windows closed. The anemic defroster did not work, and water would come in the door seams and form a pool on the floor to keep your feet cold. One particular mountain drive over Independence Pass nearly resulted in me freezing to death in July!
But other than it's ability to handle rain, it was an absolutely fantastic car in every way. If you're much over 6 foot, you will be seriously cramped in that car.
They ride harsh, the back end will come around on you if you get on it too hard, and the offset pedals in the tunnel will hurt your lower back. Exactly how it's meant to be.
I loved every minute in that car, except my one trip in the cold rain.
Sold it a few years back, but it really was a pleasure to own.
