When would everyone be available for this first "mature drivers, drive"?

Saturday and Sunday coming up don't look too bad yet. Which day is better?

Chance of snow Friday, but no word on accumulation yet. I'd suggest Sunday just to be on thensafe side, assuming that day works for others in the group.

I think to be on the safe side sunday is better as this will allow some time for the possible snow fall on friday in the moutains to melt and be nice and dry.

OK, now the route. Back way to Cripple Creek, or back way to Denver via 67N Deckers?

I have never been up to Denver via Deckers and have heard from others that it is a nice drive with plenty of curves so I vote for this route. I went to Cripple Creek last year and only remember one stretch near the end that had some nice curves but it was a nice drive. Regardless, we can do one and then if it is a success and a good time then do other routes. We could also stop somewhere on the route and grab a burger or something to chat and hit the road on a full stomach...lol.

There's a back way to Cripple Creek with less traffic, and lots of turns, but we can save that for a second trip.

Brad-any suggestions on a place to eat? What time works best on Sunday? I get up way early, so I can do whenever.

I'm not aware of any eats on the route. There is one spot on the right in Pine Grove that looks like a restaurant, but I've never been.

Other option is to grab a bite in Woodlan before heading out, and then going west on 285 to the Coney Island hot dog stand in Bailey. I need to check on distances and see if they are open yet this year.

I'm up early too, so whenever works. I'll meet you guys up here in WP - say 8:30 at McD's off 24?

I get up early as well and I prefer to be back home mid afternoon rather than late afternoon. I have no idea how long the route takes.

As for a bite to eat, anywhere is fine and I proposed this so that we can all meet each other instead of introducing ourselves for a minute and then into our cars. It can be coffee somewhere as well.

How long does the route take?

For a social gtg before the drive, I recommend the Circle-H smokehouse. Local dive, with cheap and good b-fast. Also next door to good fuel station with E-85 for those so inclined.

I'll put up more info late when I'm not posting from my phone. Lol

It's a blend of fuel that is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Some turbo guys retune to run this fuel, as it runs something like 105 octane, so you can turn boost up considerably without worrying about detonation.

OK, so we'll meet there at that time, and then go the place you suggested to get some b-fast? Then head out?
