Current Automobile Magazine article has a rendering of the four door 717 EV concept that may be out in 2019. Styling cues from the 991 and it is gorgeous. Apparently smaller than the Panamera, which gets longer and wider with the upcoming model that may be out late in 2015. Hopefully, the VW folks will let the Porsche engineers do their thing. It is doubful that Porsche left to its own devices would let any manufacturer offer a more capable car. The good news for Porsche is the pricing umbrella represented by Tesla, with its high base prices. (OK, so one does not have to buy gas for a Tesla and I suppose that supercharging stations will be all over the place in a few years, but until then they are just not convenient in terms of range or recharging. Don't try them on a track, for they shut down/overheat after one hot lap.) Never forget that every Porsche can be tracked right out of the showroom. The possibility of a Macan EV and an Audi Q5 EV is also very appealing. Yes, the Tesla Model S and S P85D are fast and handle well, but they just are not Porsche's in terms of handling, build quality and interior features/comfort.
