Maybe a porsche helped golf like there early collabartions with Audi, but even this I would rather they stayed away from.

As much as it sounds snobbish I think Porsche need to keep some exclusivity to there name rather than becoming another Ford or GM. They are a niche producer they should stay there.....a golf model would require them to become something else.

 

LOL, A VW is not a Porsche,thats why. I think Porsche wants brand Loyalty,get the buyer when their young and they will buy the more expensive cars as the earn more income, its a smart move if they do make the car.

 

The 914 was awfully popular. Why not compete at both levels? Sure I understand the perceived value of a high end only brand, but if the car is a slick driver, we all profit.

 

i think it's smart. i have had three pcars, but you know what i had prior to my pcar....a VW golf.

it's a spring board into the p family.

if they can produce it, and not have it look cheap, it's a money maker for sure.

the p brand is far from exclusive or exotic these days...****, they make soccer mom mobiles for christmas' sake.
