I'm doing some research for an auto detailing manufacturer and they are looking into Turtle Wax's Ice.

TW calls their products ICE Liquid Polish and ICE Paste Polish.

I thought polishes are mild abrasives that actually take off some of your clear coat and (like polishing diamond). ICE just seems like a clear synthetic wax. Is turtle wax incorrectly calling their products polish?

I was just confused by the naming.

Thanks for the advice.

This would be my educated guess....it's a marketing tag line for a cleaner wax. Since there are so many waxes out there, turtle might be trying to put a spin to differentiate itself. I've read mixed reviews. Main thing is it's said to be easy to apply and remove. Google it. I would say your guess of it being a clear synthetic wax would be true.

Put it down & run away! Just about all that stuff is crap, it doesn't last at all, it really does not have much shine, if you got to get the stuff locally, get some Mothers, or Meguries pro line stuff.

I won a contest at a car show, and what did I win? An ICE detailing kit.

While I'm a Turtle Wax kind of guy, love their products, been using them for years.

Following my father's advice, I washed one of my model's and then applied the ICE to it. Streaks galore, I gave up, and re-washed the model. Took the box of ICE and put it in the trashcan. It's junk.
