Interior detail question

I have a 2007 BMW 525 with the "wood" trim. It has some fine scratches, Is there any way to buff them out? Can I use a product like it was paint? Would that work or make it worse?

The wood trim has a clear coat over it. Test a small section with a mild polish, like Menzerna Final Polish, and see how it looks. If it works well, polish it and then wax it to protect.
