black paint with a few problems
hey i need a little advice, i have a black car its a 2002 GTI, its daily driven but it has sat for the last year and now im ready to bring it back out, (first time out will be the charity event on the 24th). but anyways, i want to bring it back to life the paint that is it has some small scratches in it, doesnt look deep at all, i was wondering what ppl thought about either clay-baring the car or using a power buffer on it, i dont really trust my hands on a black car with a power buffer just fyi, any in put would be greatly helpful. thanks for the help, let me know what i can do to bring it back to life.

Your best bet is to clay, polish, and wax. If you have scratches that are pretty obvious, then machine polishing is your answer. The Porter Cable dual-action polisher is the industry standard for the DIY. With the right polish and pad combo, and some wax, you'll be on your way to having a GTI to be proud of. If you want to keep it simple, use the einszett Metallic Polish and Glanz Wax combo. If you want to really impress, machine polish using Menzerna and Lake Country pads and then follow up with Glanz Wax. Hope this helps.
where would i get all of that, i want to make the factory paint really pop as much as it can, i can see a little orange peel, but coming from factory im sure most cars will have that power polishing it would eliminate that, i just dont want to burn my paint.
