Flex group buy?
Got the order next day! Too bad I won't have time until the weekend to try the Flex and products.
Phil was great to work with and took his time to answer my many questions (first timer here)
I figure I will polish up the wifes Ford Excursion (family abused vehicle). Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to count it as a mothers day gift to her.
They also included a sample of Black Wow. After seeing some videos I am looking forward to trying it out. Would this be appropriate to use on the plastic piece in the winshield wiper area of my 996?
Thanks Phil! The lusso seems great...maybe next time I'll step up to the swiss.

FYI:
I got to start on the wifes Excursion today,
1. Washed
2. Clayed
3. 2 passes with yellow pad and SIP. micro towel wipe between
4. 1 pass with white pad and 106FA (slower pace)
5. wiped clean
6. Lusso revitalize
7. Lusso Oro wax
This car had some serious issues. On the worst of panels so far I have taken care of 98% of paint issues. I could not believe the results!!!!
I thought I knew what waxing a clean car was like....boy was I wrong! Nothing is like waxing a freshly polished clear coat.
Thanks Phil!!!!

dude, seven passes over an excursion. that's a lot of surface area. your next investment will be icy hot for your aching shoulders.

LOL.....
Notice I said started
I washed the whole thing.
Then I did the whole process on the back and passenger quarter
Today it is rainy. So I just clayed everything but the hood (not botheriing with roof).
I will polish and wax as weather allows.....
Claying is the worst part. Now my arms and shoulders feel like they are gonna fall off.
BTW Phil.....expect another order this week. I think I just became addicted to this......
Now where is that detailer anonymous thread?

Is this an orbital or a rotary unit? I've heard that novices can damage the clear coat with a rotary unit. Isn't one of the advantages of the orbital the fact that it is easier on the finish and harder to screw up with?
I may be interested in the Flex unit if my fears regarding rotarty units were put to rest a bit.
Thanks!

It is a orbital with a forced rotary action. Meaning that orbitals while vibrating will naturally rotate (too much pressure will not allow them to). The Flex forces a rotation, but not at the high RPMs of a true rotary. Thus it is faster then a standard orbital but not as fast (nor dangerous) as a rotary.
I have been very pleased with it. I have had no prior experience with polishers. I have found it very easy to control and am getting great results.
