What to use on Metal/Chrome Trim around windows??

What to use on Metal/Chrome Trim around windows??

On my Lexus, I have chomeish type trim around my windows, what type of product would you guys recomment for polishing/protecting that?

you can polish it using 3M's extra duty rubbing compound from their perfect it 3000 line. As far as protecting it, any wax should do.

Is it actually chrome? or just painted to look like chrome?

If chrome, I would not use a rubbing compound if it's newer, use a metal polish like blue magic metal polish or mother aluminum metal polish.

If it's painted then a paint cleaner or mild paint polish should work okay.

Well... it isn't chrome, honestly, I can't tell what it is, it's metal i know (not plastic) but it's not quite a shinny as chrome. hmmm LoL

Use zymol Metall to polish and don't wax it. Chrome, or any bare metal, should not be waxed as the wax will close the pores of the metal and start the tarnishing process.

That's what I thought it might be. It's a weird thing, I don't know why some of the high end cars are going to this instead of chrome trim? I hate it.

It seems like it's painted but it's hard to tell....
