There are a couple of high end detailers in Miami but I'm not traveling 30 miles when I'm more than happy with my own work.

Plus, I don't need to. It truly is a labor of love.

Since we have so many experts around, thought I'd ask for an opinion. I ordered a wax I've never heard of. It's called P21S...ordered it from www.p21s.com
Anyone tried it or know of it. The write up in Modified L&E makes it sound pretty good. It was described as 100% carnauba that goes on and off easy. Usually, pure carnauba is hard as heck to go on and off.

I don't think I pay much at all if you think of it as paying a skilled professional an hourly wage to work on your car. I pay several hundred for a detail, but that detail takes at least 8 to 10 hours. And I only need 2 details a year.

Then again, Moe takes care of my cars, so I am not dealing with some yahoo who doesn't know what he is doing. As busy as Moe is, if anything, he should raise his rates (for everyone except me).

When you pay for Moe quality work, you get so much more than an extra thorough car cleaning and a waxing that you'll get at your average wash spot. You'll get a car back that looks better than new.

Also, for anyone in Dallas or Houston, if you care about your car, give JoshVette a call. He just worked wonders on my mother's 25 year old 300SD. He also did a great job on my father's Cayman S, it just didn't need nearly as much attention.

p21s is one of the better prosumer waxes on the market, the 100% part I cannot see the logic in since carnauba in its pure form is harder than concrete. I've used the wax and it wasn't bad but it also wasn't on the same par as zymol. I was told it's as good as Titanium, but my results showed otherwise. I do however like their kit that comes with soap, wheel cleaner, polish, wax, and accesories for about $60; excellent value for such a good product line.

Thanks for the compliments Rob. You were suppose to keep the 50% price increase on the down low j/k I think my prices are fair for what I do but I'm always striving for more; perfection, not money. As my skills grow, my services improve, and I feel the compensation should reflect the level of work and value. So until I move to the next level, prices stay the same.

Thanks for the link. Glad to hear such positive feedback from the product I bought. I'm gonna wax the car with it tonight after work. Then I'll head out to the Tower Shoppes gathering to show it off.

Whats up bro, I can't PM yet but wanted to get your info. I actually believe I went to Mason with you and believe you had an accord if im not mistaken. Anyhow, I have a couple of cars (possibly new 997 on the way) that need some work and would like an estimate. I am currently in Reston. Let me know when you are free.

Lil Raj-

Do you perform detail work in the DC area? I just picked up a GT3 RS, which is in great condition. I don't have the time to really work on this car, and the local Porsche dealers are a rip-off for detailing, as well as everything else. I have used an outfit called Mobile-One (or somethinig like that) out of Rockville in the past, but they seem to have gone under.

Thanks - Gerry

I do a lot of work in LA, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills, so I can take care of you in Pasadena.

You can also look at Moe from Glistening Perfection, he is one of the sponsors of this board and his work is top notch. That or you can talk to Joe at Superior Shine, he is based out of Costa Mesa I believe and his work is also above reproach.

I waxed both cars with the new P21S pure carnauba and wanted to show the results. The white car got wet in a rain shower before the pics but it still looked good enough to shoot a couple.
As for my review, the wax does go on easy, as advertized.....comes off easier than other pure carnauba's I've tried but not as easy as Meguiars. It feels so buttery in your hands but overall, it's only slightly better than Meguiars carnauba which means the premium it costs hasn't shown itself. Yet. I'll give it more time. SOmetimes a car needs time to become accustomed to a product change.
I'm not a pro detailer but here's proof you can do it yourself if your heart is in it. ANyway, here's a few pics.
