I have a PC 7424. But now you guys have me thinking about getting the Flex unit - especially now that Moe has a package with one in it and vouches for it. I am just an amatuer/hobbyist and only detail my own cars. I'm tempted but still not sold on the Flex yet. Should I get some more practice with the PC before making the move??

To be honest, you don't need to be sold on the Flex... it is what it is... it's a better machine than the PC in that it delivers better results, faster. BUT, do you personally need one? I doubt it... I've detailed many Porsches and have yet to find hard paint, or anywhere near the word "hard paint"... they're all extremely soft clear coats and they polish out perfectly with a PC... I have even corrected a few previous rotary jobs gone horribly wrong on Porsches, and I used the PC mostly to stay on the safe side of paint removal since I had no clue what the level was to begin with, and the paint came out nearly perfect each time, removing the deepest of scratches...

In short, for a P-car owner, to maintain the car, you don't need anything more than a PC, Menzerna SIP and 106ff, and black, white, and orange LC pads.

I would have agreed with you Ivan if I hadn't used the FLEX. Once I started using it, the results were much better and it took a lot less time. The machine feels better too; it doesn't wear out your hand, and ears, like the PC. The FLEX's biggest advantage is the fact it won't get bogged down and it's a TRUE random orbit. The PC, if pressed relatively firm, will stop spinning and just vibrate. That's what sold me on the FLEX.

Both of you guys give great advice. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

I went ahead and picked up the Flex unit along with the rest of the items in Moe's package #3 from his recent promotion.

I just love this stuff. Totally hooked.

You're gonna love it Dana. It's a pretty cool machine with even cooler performance.

Thanks for all of the advice given. I will be picking up a flex in the near future along with some of the recommended goodies. I look forward to posting pics of a freshly detailed ride.
Cheers,
