Question about how to use quick detailers

In between washes, can you use the QD on a car with light dirt? If you need to remove the dirt first but can't or have time to wash the car, how should you remove the dirt before using the QD?

I try to do weekly washes, but sometimes I don't have time during the day to wash the car and the car collects some dirt while sitting in the garage or when driven couple of times a week. So I thought I could use a QD to get that wash look.

Thanks

IMHO, cars should not be wiped down with anything once driven after a wash. The light dust and road dirt are microscopic rocks. No matter how gentle you are or what products you use, you will be scratching the surface with the dirt. You're better off getting a blower and just blowing the dust off when you get home. As long as there's some good wax protecting it, the surface will be slick enough for the dirt to fly off if you use a blower. My 2 cents.

I have a love/hate with quick detailers. My car must be clean all the time. They are washed at least once a week.

Before caring for my black C4S, I used them a lot. It was always a short term gain. Yea, my car was "clean" but every couple of months, they needed to be repolished!! That gets old fast! now I just use the QD to mist the car before I dry it off from washing.

I know QD the car will scratch it, there is absolute no doubt about it, so pick what is worse, a little light dirt, or a lightly scratched clean car.

I do keep QD in the car for bird droppings, & other things that should be taken off the car ASAP.

Thanks guys. It looks like I'll only be using the QB after a wash.

If I'm going to use QD, then I assume I don't have to completely dry the car after a wash? I get the sense that you can wipe off majority of the water after the wash then apply a QD even with some light wetness.

What about if theres pollen dust on the car (it looks like dirt almost), but it stick to my car so bad, i don't know why though. my car is waxed and is super clean, but the pollen always attacks...lol. If you look at the car in the sun, its like a yellow-greenish layer on my car (especially the rear end).

what could i do? can i use qd on that? thanks.

If there's pollen on the paint, and that's all you want to remove, then a safe duster like the one from Zymol would do the trick. Another handy power tool is the Airmax Blower/Dryer...this will take care of the pollen and then some It's great for drying the car as well. No more pesky water coming out of crevices after washing.

i completely agree with moemistry it will F*ck your paint up and get those swirls buildin up real fast, i mean i have a black car, but im sure it would become noticable on other colors too.
