Have you tried Ultima car care products?

Hi, guys. Newbie here.

A week ago, I bought a new Mitsubishi Eclipse. The gloss is superb, but I'm pretty sure that the glossy top coat will come off through wear and tear and after a period of routine maintenance (i.e., washing).

Since I'm pretty busy even during weekends, I'm looking for a product that is easy to apply, and one that does not need too much buffing. It would be best if the it can retain the surface shine for an extended period of time.

A friend of mine recommended Ultima products. Has anyone tried these? I heard their products are very good.

Yes,

I beta tested the ultima products about 2 years ago. Not a bad enthusiast line. That being said the 1z line is more complete for interior and exterior, cheaper, as good if not better quality and much more user friendly.

Ive only tried their Tire and Trim Shine (TTS), but its truly phenomenal. Kept the trim looking dark for months.

Its a bit expensive, but I think well worth it.

for trim, black wow is better easier on and less procduct use. For tires, I never liked the ultima tire shine.

However, BW doesn't have near the durability of Ultima TTS.

I agree that BW is easier to apply with less residue, but you also are applying it 2x as often, if not more. I had my TTS go for months with little signs of degradation or fading which I can't say of my experience with BW.

Cost is about the same when factoring in quantity/$$.

That has not been my exp with black wow at all. I generally see the vehicles at 3,4, or 6 month intervals with black wow just starting to show issues at 6 months.

Your experience is likely more extensive than mine as I stopped doing customer cars about a year ago. I had been comparing the BW to TTS on my (2) E36 M3s with the side mouldings. I always favored the TTS in both look and durability. That said, I have since sold one of the M3s (the one wearing TTS) and can no longer comment on how it looks or how its stood the 6+ month test since application.

Ultima TTS is probably one of the best trim dressing I have ever used. I have used it on the rub rail of my boat throughout the summer. The boat sits in the water and the black rub rail gets hammered. The Ultima far outlasted the BW when I tested them side by side. BW looks great but I have to give Ultima the edge for durability.

Thanks, guys. I got to look at that friend's car yesterday, a Miata. The shine was exceptional.

So you think I should try Ultima? By the way, is it true that Ultima incorporates nanotechnology?

They're incorporating an even more advanced prototype super-duper-nanotechnology version 2.0 This stuff has little nano robots that simply do all the work. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Is that similar to the "scrubbing bubbles" in the bathroom cleaner? Personally, I'm waiting for version 3.0 which has even smaller robots.
