jeff4774 is infamous around these parts
bumper got hit

okay, someone backed up and hit my bumper,
paint cracked,
i can feel a bump on the bumper, most likely caused by something from under the bumper skin.
my question is, should i have the bumper replaced?
or can it be repaired?
its a hit and run,
i have not yet gotten the insurance involved,
knowing a $500 deductable from my pocket is involved.

any suggestions welcomed.

thanks
jeff-

Sorry to hear that Jeff. If the bumper is cracked, my instinct tells me it has to be replaced. To replace and repaint the bumper, you're going to spend a lot more than your deductible. I'd say north of $2000 by a shop that will do a good job.

Call your insurance agent...I'm pretty sure things like this can be put through without raising your rates. If you don't know a reputable shop, and are willing to drive to orange county, contact this shop..

Family business and the owner still paints each car himself.

Hope this helps.
