Metropolitan Detail Wetsanding SS paint.
A good customer of ours has this beautiful 1961 Lincoln Continental 4-door. He has a small rust blemish on his trunk so he had the trunk resprayed. The paint was laid nicely with no dry spots, but I did have to nib out quite a bit of dirt. I nibbed the dirt with 1000 grit sandpaper and a D.A. I then blocked the whole trunk with 1500 grit wet and 2000 grit wet. I then polished out sanding scratches with a white "aggresive" wool buffing pad with Menz. Power Gloss, went to an orange CCS pad with SIP then finished with white CCS pad and Super Finish. Topped with Autoglym HD wax.
Great job as usual John...I liked the shot of the ceiling...doesn't look like much orange peel on that finish.
Looks really great. I am not a fan of color sanding factory paint, but any aftermarket paint is a great candidate. The results look awesome.
Wetsanding paint is one of my favorite parts of detailing. The difference it makes is so dramatic.
