Cr spotless drain

Has anyone installed drain pet****s on their canisters? I love my unit but after awhile the water begins to smell badly and the smell transfers to the cab. fabric?

subscribed. I don't notice any foul smell, but the canisters should be drained before storage to prevent algae growth = spotting. Canisters are very heavy and not the easiest to remove and reattach; removing them after each wash just isn't practical.
