guys:
a number of acquaintences have commented that they would like their cars detailed. living in a smallish midwestern town, there are not a lot of chices. what would be a competite price for me to offer this service? full detail..interior, clay bar, polish and wax. is $250/car out of line?
thanks.

but maybe where there isn't a big market, that might sound about right.

It all depends on the time they're going to spend on your car, the type of work they're going to do, and the quality of products. Most importantly though, what experience do they have working on YOUR car. I cannot tell you how disturbing it is when guys try and save a few bucks and take it to the local gas station or have a novice detailer do the work. If the leather is damaged from too harsh of chemicals, a new seat is in the thousands and to repair it might cost you a few hundred. So remember the old saying "you get what you pay for". Visit their shop, talk to the owner, look at examples of their work, and ask for references. Hope this helps. After all, I own a detailing company and I would do this if I had a Porsche.
