Heated High Pressure Washer ...
Heated High Pressure Washer ...
At my business we have a heated HP washer that we use to wash the parking lots, entrances, builiding, etc ... The thing can be adjusted anywhere from 180 to 300 degrees ... What is a safe temperature to wash a car with and is the high pressure BAD for the paint?
Thanks,
Dario

From what I understand high pressure is not really the way to go. Especially if the car is really dirty you can create all those fine scratches and spiderwebbing. I have also heard in extreme cases if your car has been waxed applying the high pressure hose to it can cause the integrity of the coat of wax to diminish. Just my .02 from the bits and pieces of reading I've done. Hope this helps.
your alright, just make sure the psi is not over 1300 above that it's possible to cause damage, as far as temp goes 100 degrees or lower is plenty hot enough, high temp on a sidewalk is great to dislodge sticky substances but not a good idea on auto paint.
Using a high pressure form of water can quickly damage the paint. It forces the dirt, microscopic rocks, into the wax layer and when you start washing, you're rubbing that dirt around. You want to basically loosen the dirt when washing and a regular house water pressure which is around 50-65 psi does a great job. IMHO
