Refreshing old PPF

Hi all,
I have a black 997.1 with ppf on the front bumper, fenders and half way up the hood (likely from the original owner). The fenders and bumper aren't too bad but the hood is looking a bit hazy and definitely different from the upper section of the hood (where there's no ppf). Is there a decent way to 'refresh' the ppf? I don't want to attack it and make it look worse so any insight is helpful!
I know that removing it is plan B, but wanting to try a refresh first.
Thanks!

It is probably best to get the film replaced. Older technology film will age, and sometimes ages faster when not properly maintained. That's probably what you are seeing. Once the film is faded, there isn't too much you can do. Consider replacing the partial hood with a full hood installation to avoid the seam across the hood and also get more comprehensive protection for the hood.
