Pressure Washer
Pressure Washer
Hey guys, I'm going to get a pressure washer to clean the garage floor, garage doors, and stucco on the house. I'd also like to use it as an initial cleaner for wheels when I'm washing the cars. I'd also use it for wheel wells, and under carriage. Is this a bad idea? What psi is safe for the cars? Ideally, I'd like something strong enough to be of use, but not too strong. Thanks!

Your home usually is anywhere from 50-75 psi. That's usually enough for me. I personally don't recommend pressure washer because of all the sensors on the calipers and the damage it MIGHT do to them. I know on the new Range Rovers I've had a few clients having their air ride system fail while driving. The Rover simply dropps while driving. The dealer had told them it was due to a pressure washer shooting in the wheel well. I'm not sure if that's valid, but it does deter me from using the p-washer. Just my 2 cents.
Well I bought the Honda 3500 and it works great. I have a stucko house as well and use it to clean the exterior. Nice thing about the 3500 is although it costs $1000 to $1,200, it has a pressure regulator on it and you can adjust the pressure to what ever the need. It also comes with 5 nozzles to allow a spray pattern from 0 to something like 40%. This thing is a beast and you'll never regret owning it!
I'll be using a pressure washer once my garage is finished, starting with a Home Desperate $150.00 model that I have. Will only be using it to float the surface stuff from the car. Be carefull not to get the nozzel close to the car because it can severly damage the paint.
I will also be removing my wheels and waxing them all over with wheel wax. Makes them very easy to clean.
