Make sure you apply that by hand. Take off all your bling as well Gil. Dont want your watch scratching your shiny paint right?

HD Cleanse is not a polish and is not intented to be used as one. It's really a pre-wax cleaner to remove suface contaminates. IMO, if you are going to use FP, you should follow up with the less abrasive FPII prior to HD Cleanse and wax. Personally, I don't even use FP. I only use FPII on my cars because I never let my paint get that bad and PO106FF only on my MBs with Ceram-coat paint.

"Why is HD-Cleanse better than other pre-wax cleaners?

Most other similar products incorporate abrasive "grit" to "scrub" the surface clean. HD-Cleanse uses Montan oil (a natural solvent that will not penetrate clean paint), apricot kernel oil, and lemon seed oil spun to a very thin consistency. As you apply HD-Cleanse, the oils penetrate and breakdown contaminants on the surface of the paint, so they can be wiped off without scratching the top paint layer."

That said, why use FP and skip the less abrasive FPII prior to HD cleanse? Just my .02.

You're giving me **** about the top speed of my Italian Pinto, and then you title a thread "Pulled the trigger today" when all you bought was a can of wax??? Must have been a pretty big trigger there. Be careful where you point that next. We might have an entire thread devoted to your new collection of designer micro-fiber towels . . .

FPII is the consumer grade FP. If you notice, the bottles of Menzerna Gil has are different the bottles sold to consumers. Depending on which pad you use, it can reduce the abrasive effects of the polish. Gil could have used FP with the Lake Country orange pad and then use FP with Lake Country white pad. I recommended 106FF because of how it works on his black 7 series. 106FF has better polishing technology and when used with the orange pad, it can correct minor imperfections. You then follow it with FP and the white pad, and then I go straight to HD. Give it a try, it works very well.

HD is a polish as well. Excellent explanation about how HD works 2th.... I'll add one thing...the ingredient that makes HD a mild polish is crushed apricot seeds. The montan oil as you mentioned essentially melts the impurities and contaminants. The crushed apricot seeds will polish out minor imperfections like microswirls from washing. Because of the oils as well, it conditions the paint and prepares it for the Zymol waxes. You MUST use HD prior to any Zymol wax application for proper bonding. Now by bonding, I mean on a very molecular level. Not like clear bonding to paint.

Vintage is a great wax I have been using it for the last 2 years, make sure you melt all the carnauba crystals before touching the paint and A little trick I do is wash your hands with Zymol clear before applying the wax Clear has natural oils which help spread the wax.
