It all depends on how deep the yellowing has gone. Sometimes if the surface is dried out, a good polishing will do the trick. There are some products out there that claim they will fix that problem. Could you post a picture?

Moe is right... but I've found out that unless the yellowing is mostly stuff on the surface, sanding is the best option... I fixed tons of headlights so far with 600, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000... (not necessarily starting with 600 or going in that order, but those grit values)... polishing almost always helps somewhat, but like I said, if it's bad enough, polishing won't fix it completely... post a pic like Moe said, maybe we can get an idea... get a close-up pic btw

The head lights / turn signals on my 7 year old truck are not to bad. Every time I wax the truck I put a coat of wax on the lights also. I am sure that has helped them over the years. I have never polished them. I will try that
Thanks

Wax definitly helps. I always wax the headlights. Great technique.

mine were pretty bad on my 996 and I used a sandpaper and buffing set i found on eBay and it worked awesome. It came with directions with the technique required and all the materials minus the high speed drill. That was about a year ago and i need another light buffing, but I haven't been using the protectant regularly. My rear lights are fine though. I think it has to do with the heat buildup inside the headlight. I'm sure you can probably cook hotdogs with the sun in a 996 headlight. I might just tint them with tint spray that I've seen around.

ALSO: Castrol SuperClean does an AMAZING job of removing the yellow color. Just spray it on and watch the yellow wash away.

I would worry about that stuff getting on the paint

I use it to get the bugs off of my bumper with no problems. And the bumper has cheaper Diamont paint. Of course, you will have to rewax wherever it gets onto.

My sentiment exactly. Castrol is a VERY aggressive cleaner and I would be careful using it anywhere on the car. Stick with polishing.
