High Polish Wheel Cleaning

What the best way to clean and bring back the shine to a high polish wheel? My HREs have taken a severe beating over the past couple of months and I would like to bring them back to life......think of this as a last resort before having them professionally redone. I'll post some photos tomorrow morning if it helps, but think pretty bad with perhaps brake pad dust stubbornly stuck on the lips..

It depends on how bad it is. The safest and effective method I use is Zymol Metall. It's a natural wheel wipe that removes the brake dust that's embedded and won't harm the finish. We use it at the Concours d'Elegance on the antique cars to polish any bare copper, magnesium, aluminum, etc.

Search for Blue Magic polishing paste. Buy a bottle of that and try buffing the wheel out with a towel and the paste and see if it works. It works wonders on all my chrome and polished metal.

I have had the best luck wiht Mother's Incredible Billet Aluminum Polish. Lots of elbow grease, but offers great results on the polished lips.
