sunday times- 430 scud vs gt2
I am a fan of performance but not when it comes to noise, and let me tell you that the CS series is noisey.
exactly!
i would have to disagree here. i bet that the 997 GT2 is just as docile around town as the 996 GT2. porsche does not make cars that ask much of their owners in that regard.

Haha I think you're wrong there man. I mean even if the first part of what you say is true (which I agree with), the second part isn't. The 996 GT2 is anything but docile.
and internet racers love this stuff. When is the last time you drove the 997GT2 and the 430S? I don't see how his speculations are any different than yours.
on a side note, it is a glorious car to drive and one of the very few cars that has left a permanent imprint on my psyche. its a must have for any driving enthusiast.
im sure some of the 996GT2 owners can chime in here?
please don't take this the wrong way but have you had some seat time in a 996GT2? i have and i can tell you it was very docile around town, didn't bite a bit. even without driving aids it has so much mechanical grip that you have to really be on it to have to apply any lock. if possible try one out and you will see what i mean.

there isn't any right or wrong here, its purely subjective. from my experience though, its a pussycat around town. some people may not have a similar performance threshold and therefore think its difficult to handle?
I don't care if the GT2 is 10 seconds faster around the ring. Just the sound of the Scud makes it worth it to me. P-cars perform well and all, but don't sound good at all and are not as exciting to drive, although I haven't driven a Ferrari.
p.s. I'd chose the F-car...even if it were slower
