Hello ,
I have an 86 Testarossa. Suppose that counts as older car. It has been very reliable. Engine-out major maintenance is indeed about $4000-6500 set-back about every 5 years. Shop around on that. Wide range in prices. I have done my own brake work, clutch master, alternator rebuild, etc. Always had wanted 12 cylinder. Have enjoyed it a lot. Bought it in '99 and it is worth about 85-90% of what I paid. Insurance is reasonable for an old guy like me with good driving record. Good luck. I look to Ferrarichat for tech advice. Make sure you get parts books and shop manuals. Ron

I knew someone who actually worked in maranello. He said the 328 with abs is the best car to get. The engine dates back to the old 308. All the mechanical problems have been worked out by the time they got to the 328.

He said the engine is bullletproof!

You can also go to www.ferrarispot.com. Great info there as well.

Here's a great site for Testarossa owners: http://www.ferrariaustralia.com/

Keep up the individual work. Great to hear someone else does his own Ferrari work.

Not a mystery car as many think.
