You have to drive both before making a decision. Many good points made about getting a 360 that has been driven (and maintained, make sure the belts have already been done).

I had a 360 and now have a 430, the 360 does not look dated to me, it is beautiful.

I sat in a running R8 in person, it was very slick, but not a 360 - two different cars.

Daily driver I might opt for the new R8 after driving it to make sure I like it (less maintenance dollars for the next few years too - don't forget to factor that in), but nothing is like the Ferrari 360 (except the 430!)

My only concern with the R8 is that 4 wheel drive cars usually feel numb in the steering, and I don't enjoy them as much as the "light on its feet" feel of the 360 (the 360 and 430 start with Lotus Elise steering DNA and add a ton of usable power and the icing on the cake is the gorgeous interior and body styling!) The R8, however, has been billed as a great driver's car with lots of feel, and most of the power to the rear wheels, so could be sweet.

Some people might say the R8 has a nicer interior, but I think it is a matter of taste. The R8 will have more modern gadgets in the interior, and you could probably blast down the highway on a long drive with the stereo cranked in the R8 and think you were in a Mercedes (roughly), but that ain't gonna happen in a 360 (especially if you get a Tubi or Capristo!)

Anyway, two awesome cars, not a bad problem to have. To come full circle, go drive both if possible!

I dunno why many ppl like the R8. It is not a very attractive car at all and has all these weird angles and panels. The 360 is pure sex imo. The only thing bad about this matchup is that the 360 you cannot get new now obviously.

IF the 360 looks dated, it is still one of the sexiest cars rolling today. It has (IMHO) classic style that will LONG out live the R8. Think about it, we're comparing a 1999 car with the latest and greatest for 2008. The R8 will be dated and looked at as generic within 3 years.

I think the R8 looks like Crap, it's not ugly car, but it's not attractive either. It's trying too hard to be something unique. The 360 may not be the fastest car but it provides a driving experience like no other.

I finally saw a R8 in person. I think it looks a lot better live than in print or photo. Car is low and small. Still, I'd take the 360 just for the engine/exhaust sound :-)

Either car will be fun. But there's nothing sexier than a Ferrari.

The R8 is not a very attractive or graceful vehicle in my opinion. The frontal grille collection reminds me of Mike Tyson's teeth!!!

The 360 is elegantly designed and represents the best of Italian gracefulness.

The 360 is my choice hands down.

I would go with the R8 with the TDI V12.

360 still looks awesome even next to 430 or Enzo for that matter. I did a few hundred miles driving in 360 with 430, Enzo, GT3 RS, GT3. It really gets the looks.

The only thing R8 has on the 360 would be a warranty and lower maintenance costs.
It, however, looks like a hiper Audi TT, rather than an exotic car.

If you want some practicality, R8 is it. If you want an exotic car experience, 360.
