HD video of my 360
I mainly got the A1U because you can hook up a professional mic. I plan on doing more car vids, so sound was very important for me. I thought about the hard drive based camcorders but the compression algorithm was incompatible with some video editing software. HD bandwidth through MiniDV HDV was the best choice for me.
The original footage was shot in 16:9 ratio at 24fps. Vimeo converts my 1080i footage to their own format for playback, that's why the pictures looks a little compressed. It took about an hour to render the HDV into Windows Media 1080i format for a 2 min clip. I didn't want to spend another hour cropping the video to 4:3 format for vimeo. I need a faster computer, maybe a quadcore Phenom.

Thanks very much for the complements. This is my first video and I'm just starting to get to know my camcorder as well as Vegas Pro 8. The weather has been very crappy in the Bay Area. As soon as it gets nicer, I'll get more vids of other cars and improve on the story board.
Footage looks great... car looks alright too
.
What do you think of the Canon HV-20? Is this a better camera than the Canon? I'm surprising my girlfriend with one but am pretty clueless when it comes to these.

The HV20 has had favorable reviews on video quality, but the criticisms have mainly centered on the "cheap" plastic construction and ergonomic position of the buttons. The prices have come down dramatically since it's replacement is now available.
Awesome thanks, just bought the HV20, I was checking out the HV30 and it doesn't really have any new features. It's just black now. Thanks for the help. And get more vids of the 360 up.
