probably in 2012 or so.
and it probably will not be 430, maybe 460 as the engine will grow in size.

 

I don't know about Ferrari's much, but I've heard that the current F430 released after one year of 360 CS's release. I just figured scuderia released a while ago, it should not be that long to come. but it's just my .02 cents

 

The replacement model is due to show next Fall as a 2010 model as far as I have heard from info.

Ferrari had a serious passenger air bag issue with NHTSA and could have been stopped in the 2007 M/Y from bringing the car to the US. However they were granted a short-term exemption through the 2009 M/Y only.

So it has to be as a M/Y 2010.

My guess as to engine size is that it will not be much bigger than what they now have, because they are trying to be somewhat ecological in the world's eyes.

Direct injection is the biggie as is the dual clutch as in Porsche!

I would not expect great engine differences for a while in the new model either.

My guess is that they will use the 4.7 L 8 now being used in the Quattroporte which is 430 Hp.

Ferrari will most likely use their flat plane crank in that block and boost that to maybe 450 or 480 HP.

They are posed to balance their HP with the green nature of the world. They are careful now not to offend any nations. So DI is a major step as Porsche has done, but Porsche is doing it with 6 cyls and much better fuel economy!

Ferrari owners don't generally care about fuel economy but outsiders do.

I do agree. I believe the muscle car HP race is nearing an end. It has gotten a bit ridiculous.

Lighter, more efficient vehicles are the "in".

Porsche has worked miracles with that 6 cylinder engine, and they get high marks for that. The Cayennes seem now to be paying the price so Porsche has positioned itself well for fuel efficiency with the 997's.

 

I sure hope so. Hell, keep the power the same and drop 300 pounds. Now that would be sweet.

My guess is Ferrari will debut the car in fall 2009 and go on sale soon after as a 2010 mode. the 360 ran for about 5 years, just like the 355 so I think the f430's run is almost over.

But for sure they will put the flat plane crank in that block. It saves weight itself and the exhaust system is about 1/3 the size and weight of the 90 degree crank. So ther is an overall weight savings there.

 

I think it'll prob be called F500 or something somewhere around the 500 field
