Switching from 911 Turbo to F430
hmm. well in my opinion the F- car is more of a passion car and the porsche in a engineering marvel with much more focus for the driver to perform constantly hence the high-tech AWD system... i think you only live once.. get the Ferrari and have some real exotic styled fun!
I'm shocked. I've never seen your car either.
Hey Deputydog, I spend most of my time around US 19. I live on Curlew. You might have seen my twin. He has a Aston DB9 and a Cayenne with the full Techart Magnum package. Pretty mean. Anyway, safe driving.

for perspective, my Dad drove my 360 for the first time this weekend. He is a current turbo owner. He now wants to sell his 997 and replace it with either a 360 or a 430. service will be different, but there is something about the sound the car makes. I've raced porsches, and they are technical marvels. But to me, they don't have the soul the ferrari does.
good luck with your search.

I use it as a DD most days.
although I'm in Tampa most of the afternoon. 3 out of every 7 nights its sitting in front of wing house while I drink my 2 shock tops to wind down my day.
We're almost neighbors. I'm right near Alt 19 and Curlew.
Which wing house?

1: Could be....just make sure the car is under warranty. Things can break and when they do they are VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!
2: Manual all the Way... No way F1 on the 430 over the stick.... I have stick and absolutely love it. If you're a manual tranny fan (like me), you wont regret it....adds that much more to the driving experience
4: Brake flush, Tranny flush, oil changes, misc....easy 3-4K a year. Maintenance isnt cheap.
Good luck.
1) Is the F430 suitable for daily use? We live in Sarasota, Florida so it is not LA, NYC, etc.
2) I've been driving a manual transmission since getting my license in 1963. The dealer goes on and on about how great the F-1 transmission is. I'm reluctant to give up a 6 speed (the Maserati was my wife's car). Any thoughts?
3) I asked about driver training at Sebring and again could not get a good answer. Does Ferrari still hold these sessions?
4) The Porsche is as reliable as the sun coming up in the morning. We have three 997 911s in the family and the only warrantee claim was for water getting into the fog lights on the Turbo. Maintenance consists of oil and filter changes plus a rear tire set on one of the 911s. The dealer threw out a $3,000 to $5,000 per year figure for maintenance. What can they be doing for this type of money?
